Describe your perfect day: My perfect day involves doing anything outdoors, especially on a nice summer day so ideally I’d go hiking, running, or kayaking with my friends and family and maybe explore a new place. Plus I’d make us stop for ice cream on the way home. I have a theory that every good day ends with ice cream.

For what in life are you most grateful for? I’m grateful to my dad for making me into the writer and person I am today. He would always tear apart my papers and tell me I could do better. At the time it was frustrating, but it only served to make me a better writer. Today he still encourages me to be the best Christian journalist I can be and tell stories that really matter.

Fun Fact: Since coming to college I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Guy Fieri can hire me as his assistant any time now.

What is your biggest success up till now? The time that I got my dream summer internship working with a major IT company and learning the ropes of networking!

Embarrassing moment at Messiah College: When I played for coffeehouse my sophomore year, I got up on stage and played an entire song with a friend while the sound man still had my guitar muted so no one could hear me so I ended up just standing there on stage.

Favorite part about working at the Pulse? I like that there are flexible hours, I get special backstage access to all the big dances, concerts, and other events on campus, and I like that I can shape how students see news and events through the lens of my camera.

What is your life motto and why? Hakuna Matata—it means no worries…and I really need to learn to stop worrying.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only have one thing, what would it be? A Genie lamp—Wish #1: Take me home, Wish #2: Pay for college, Wish #3: World peace.

Advice to Messiah Students? Make true and honest friends and choose quality relationships—they make college even more worthwhile.

About you: I am a sports junkie, and I am also on the basketball team. I love to hang out with friends and just relax and I love to eat.

What does your perfect day look like? No homework or anything else to do. I would have time to relax and play basketball with my boys and hang out with my friends.

What is your life motto and why? You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. In life, you have to take chances and go for things you want no matter how uncomfortable it may be to put yourself out there.
