There’s still a long way to go before the 2025 Formula 1 season starts on March 16, so fans are eager for the drivers to post what they’ve been up to during preseason. Though some of the racers are returning to their teams, there have also been some significant team changes.
This past week, Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) posted the first photos, showing him outside the Ferrari facility in Maranello. He then followed up a couple posts later with photos in his new race uniform and helmet.
His new teammate Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) returned to track with him for the first time as teammates, which also caused excitement online. With Hamilton having spent so much time at Mercedes, the move to Ferrari has been one of the most anticipated changes in the off-season.
Another change that occurred this off-season was Carlos Sainz (Williams), former Ferrari driver, traveling back to England to be a part of the Williams team with Alex Albon (Williams). Since Ferrari is one of the top teams, especially after placing second in the 2024 World Constructors Championship, fans are worried that Sainz will no longer be driving a car proportional to his talent.
While this is a legitimate concern to have for a favorite driver, Sainz has expressed his intention to help Williams become a top team. With this news, fans are interested to see what Williams will be able to accomplish this season.
Max Verstappen (Red Bull), 2024’s World Drivers Champion, is now teamed up with Liam Lawson (Red Bull) who formerly raced for Red Bull’s Junior Team, Visa CashApp Red Bull. This caused a lot of controversy due to the fact that Yuki Tsunoda (VisaCashApp RB) has been on the junior team for his entire F1 career since 2021.
Overall, this off-season and preseason before the cars get back on the track has been very interesting. There will be a lot of new rookies on the track, so it will be interesting to see what other developments arise during the year.
