This Tuesday, February 18th, the season officially starts. Well, the races don’t start quite yet, but we do get to see the new liveries and the rest of the official gear for the 2025 season. F1 75, as the event is called, will be the first season launch event according to the F1 social media, and it also commemorates the 75th anniversary of the sport. The event will be held at the O2 in Greenwich, England.
While the driver uniforms and merchandise have been slowly revealed throughout the past couple of weeks, we still have yet to see the official liveries for all the cars. However, there have been many teasers and a lot of speculation.
McLaren, for example, posted a camouflage livery that has a black and orange pattern, similar to one you’d see on a gila monster lizard. They also posted a picture of Lando Norris (McLaren) wearing an all black suit. Both the car livery and the suit have been met with mixed responses within the F1 community. Until the 18th, there is no way to know whether or not this is the official livery, similar to the official livery, or just a red herring.
Some of the speculation has been left up to the fans. While it has not been made official, I have seen some things pertaining to the Ferrari livery being a darker red than it was last year. While we have no way of knowing yet, this assumption is based on the suits and merchandise that we have seen of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari).
Speaking of Leclerc, he has also released new music based on the 2024 season. Leclerc has previously released songs pertaining to the previous seasons. He didn’t announce his new singles until he posted them today (the 17th), so it came as a shock and delight to his fans and the rest of the F1 community as well.
Overall, between Leclerc’s music and the upcoming F1 75 event, February is shaping up to be an exciting month in the motorsports world.
