As the 2025 season quickly approaches, the Formula 1 teams are preparing their cars and uniforms for the first race in March. While none of the teams have revealed their liveries yet, some of the teams have revealed their uniforms and merchandise for the season.
Ferrari recently posted their uniforms for the seasons. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) have posed for many photos in the new uniforms, as well as the new designs for merch. There are mixed feelings among the fans about the hats and shirts we’ve seen. Some enjoy the deep red color with shiny pinstripes, while others preferred the style of previous years that included more yellow.
In addition to the suits’ designs being generally different, Leclerc has also opted to alter the design of his driver logo. There have been several driver logo changes this year due to the amount of new drivers in the rookie class. However, very few of the 2024 season drivers altered their logos.
Many were confused at first since it seemed more like a logo suited to Liam Lawson, as the symbol looks like two Ls. The new logo is essentially an L and a 1 diagonal from each other. In context, these are the L in Leclerc and the 1 in his number, 16. Even after this explanation, fans are still missing the previous logo.
The other team to release their official 2025 suits were Mercedes. George Russell (Mercedes) and Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) posed in striped suits earlier this week. While fans understand that the team now partners with Adidas, the stripes seem to overwhelm the outfit and clash with the polka dots on the pants.
These two teams have not only been the ones to announce their uniforms, but also their reserve drivers. Zhou Guanyu (Ferrari) and Valterri Bottas (Mercedes) were former teammates last year on the Kick Sauber team. This year, they get to return to teams they have previously raced under to become their reserve drivers.
Hopefully, we’ll be getting more announcements from the other eight teams soon!
