Next week is the Miami Grand Prix, and if it’s anything like last year, fans are in for a wild ride. Lando Norris (McLaren) won last year, with Max Verstappen (Red Bull) and Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) coming in second and third. This was Norris’s first win, and his fans were overjoyed.

Many people cite this McLaren win as the catalyst that allowed McLaren to achieve a Constructor’s Championship win later on in the season. That being said, will this year’s race offer the same amount of excitement and consequences?

Prior to Norris’ win, Verstappen won the majority of the grand prix in Miami. However, there have been only three Miami Grand Prix ever! The race was introduced in 2022, so the fact that no other drivers have won is not very surprising.

That being said, it is much harder to predict who will win this weekend. Will it be Verstappen again? He was fairly dominant overall in the 2022 and 2023 seasons, so there is no way of knowing whether or not this is a good track for him comparatively. Norris could also take home the win again. However, with his teammate Oscar Piastri (McLaren) having taken the majority of wins this season, there is a very real chance that Norris won’t receive his second Miami win.

In addition to the high-stakes racing, Miami is also known for showing the drivers some other, more American sports. Last year, many of the drivers participated in football challenges. While they may be good at driving, not all of them are the most amazing football players. Many of them, Leclerc specifically, have some very funny photos of them participating online.

Overall, the Miami Grand Prix is set to be an interesting one, no matter who wins!
