With Valentine’s Day all wrapped up, I’m feeling grateful to be in a strong, Christian relationship. Do you feel like your faith is dwindling when it comes to you and your partner? Here are some ways my boyfriend and I bring Jesus to the center of our relationship:
#1: Put God First
Although your partner and relationship should be a priority, God needs to come first. Putting God first allows you to be at peace and helps you navigate any relationship anxieties you might have. If He comes first for the both of you, your relationship will be built on a shared, solid foundation.
#2: Pray Together
Prayer should occur both in good times and bad, so my boyfriend and I have made it a daily habit to pray together. We go back and forth between who leads the prayer, but each offers requests of things we or someone we know is grappling with. This allows us to not only bring our requests to God, but also show each other what is on our minds. Additionally, in times of stress, we try to remind each other to take a moment and just pray.
#3: Devotionals
My boyfriend and I are currently on our second devotional book. These devotions allow us to enter into deeper conversations we wouldn’t otherwise have. If you’re looking for a good one, I highly recommend Sadie Robertson and Christian Huff’s How to Put Love First.
I hope these three steps can help bring Christ back to the center of your relationship!
