We’ve just entered our third month of 2026! I often feel that the first few months of a new year fly by, and this year is no exception. School has certainly been keeping me busy and I feel burnout creeping in.

There’s good news, though! Spring break is right around the corner and God grants us rest as a gift.

Not only have I felt so busy with schoolwork, but my mind has also been filled with worry. One story that has always helped me through times like this is that of Martha, where she is busy trying to tend to Jesus when he visits her home.

Luke 10:40-42 explains, “But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, ‘Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!’ ‘Martha, Martha,’ the Lord answered, ‘you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed — or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” (NIV).

Mary had chosen to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to His words.

So, if you too are feeling worried and are in need of rest, run back to the Lord. Open His Word and spend time in prayer with Him. Ask for a calm mind and free time.
