Messiah College’s Department of Theatre and Dance proudly presents Children of Eden this weekend, February 4-7, and next, February 11-14.

The popular musical is based on the Genesis story of parental love, conflict and redemption. Sarah Harris, who plays the role of Yonah in the musical says, “this musical brings out the beautiful, comical and heartbreaking nuances to a story we often over summarize.”

Through a dynamic plot regarding familiar stories and a wide variety of music genres, Children of Eden is sure to please an equally wide variety of audiences.

The cast consists of many characters of Genesis including Adam, Eve and the following generations, as well as dancers and storytellers to create a show to please both the eyes and ears.

Josiah Nisly plays the role of Japheth as well as a storyteller. Nisly agrees that his favorite part of the experience is indeed the choreography.

Persephone Marien, who plays a storyteller and Seth’s wife, notes her favorite part of the show has been forming bonds with people she may not have otherwise interacted with.

Sarah Harris also speaks in the same vein, noting the talent of the entire cast and how they collaborate to form such a spectacular performance.

Messiah’s performance of this excellent musical is not one to miss. Whether for the choreography, chemistry and talent of the cast, dynamic plot, or Biblical inspiration, Children of Eden will likely be the highlight of your week!

Don’t miss out on one of the eight performances on February 4-6th and 11-13th at 8:00 pm and February 7th and 14th at 3:00 pm in Miller Theater. Tickets are available online at messiah.edu/tickets, by phone at 717-691-6036, at the ticket office, or at the door. You aren’t likely to be disappointed.
