Spring break flew by in a blink, and now we can begin counting down the days until Easter break begins. Between getting back into the routine and enjoying that wonderful mid-week snow day, here’s what you may have missed:
Wednesday, March 7 – On-Campus Theft
This happened before this week, but updates have come in more recently. An unidentified man stole a credit card from an employee’s office on March 7th. The Upper Allen Police Department continue to investigate the theft. They believe that the suspect is also responsible for thefts that occurred in Summer 2016.
Tuesday, March 20 – Talk With Love Thinks, Inc. Founder
The hour-long talk led by Dr. John Van Epp took place in Parmer Cinema. Van Epp gave students relationship advice, focusing on millennials in relationships. Love Thinks, Inc. has two goals according to their website, “first, to empower you to help yourself grow in your own relationships; and second, to equip you to help others have healthy, happy and lasting relationships.”
Thursday, March 22 – Incense
The Student Chaplain Team hosted a night of worship and prayer in Brubaker Auditorium on Thursday night. The night included music from PowerHouse, United Voices of Praise Gospel Choir and the Kairos band. In addition to music, Acclamation Dance Ministry performed and students could even partake in foot washing. The event centered around Psalm 141:2, “May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.”
Just a little over a month after the horrific shooting in Parkland, Fl., a Maryland teen brought a gun to Great Mills High School. Seventeen-year-old Austin Wyatt Rollins brought his father’s handgun to school with intentions to use it on Tuesday morning; he shot his ex-girlfriend, Jaelynn Willey, 16, in the head. Willey will be taken off life support.
