Can you believe that J-Term is basically over? To push through the last few days, here are some fun things to do.
Read Wonder by R. J. Palacio. Auggie is a little boy born with a facial deformity. For years, his parents homeschooled him, but now it’s time for Auggie to enter fifth grade at a public school. Even though he has always been optimistic, there are kids at school who will challenge his self-confidence and make him question if he can ever be treated normally.
Listen to everything i wanted by Billie Eilish.
We all know Eilish for her darker, whisper-singing style of music, but there’s another side of her that most of us have barely heard. Her soft voice turns serious and slightly sad in this song as she recounts the way fame has affected the way she lives her life. The way the song is constructed still feels familiar, but the lyrics will definitely reveal a vulnerable side to Eilish.
Watch Nailed It.
It’s fun to watch culinary shows where everyone is a perfect book, but it’s even more fun when none of the cooks really know what they’re doing. This show challenges people who have repeatedly failed at baking to recreate complicated and beautiful desserts, all in good humor. The winner is the person who…is the least bad. If anything, it’ll at least put a smile on your face.
Watch The Secret Life of Pets.
Our pets live a whole life when we’re not around, and this movie perfectly explores that concept. When Max’s owner brings back a new dog that disrupts his quiet life, he’s determined to get rid of his new housemate. Through a series of accidents, Max ends up lost in New York City with the task of getting home before his owner realizes he’s gone.
Meet up with a friend.
Take some time to meet up with a friend this week. Whether it’s an old friend or a new one, it’s nice to sit down and catch up. Nothing fancy required, just a good, old-fashioned conversation with someone who means something to you.
