What do you like best about being on a sports team?
Being in a team sport just gives you an instant family. Coming in that first week, I was just immediately surrounded by friends who just poured into me their time, their love, their encouragement. Whenever I needed something, I had people to go to.
What made you choose softball?
I actually had the choice to play golf or softball, but I just see myself excelling in softball and going places with it. I feel myself potentially coaching it in the future. I knew that under Coach Weaver I could grow as a person and as an athlete.
What’s your favorite class this year?
My favorite class would have to be linear algebra. I am a math geek, and I’ve enjoyed – after taking a few years of calc – being able to apply all that I’ve learned.
What’s something you’re excited for this year?
Coming from last year, we were defending national runner-ups. I’m just excited to get back on the field for softball and play the sport I love for the God I love.
What’s the weirdest piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
It’s kind of the weirdest piece of advice, but also the best advice I’ve gotten. It would be ‘just go out there and don’t be afraid to fail because it is in those failures where you really grow and find yourself and overcome obstacles.’
Describe your perfect pizza.
My perfect pizza would be cheese pizza with buffalo chicken and blue cheese on top!
